The Michael H. Epstein and Scott E. Schwimer Collection of tens of thousands of vintage and contemporary glamour photographs (it's the largest privately-held collection in the world) is going on the auction block March 26 and 27 via Profiles in History. You'll find an amazing array of famous photos from the best of the best: George Hurrell (including iconic shots of Joan Crawford, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, Jean Harlow, Norma Shearer, Gary Cooper, Bette Davis, Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Veronica Lake, and Johnny Weissmuller), Richard Avedon, Robert Mapplethorpe, Man Ray, Helmut Newton, Herb Ritts, Cindy Sherman, as well as fine art by Andy Warhol, Richard Duardo, Keith Haring, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Beatrice Wood, and numerous others.
The best part is that a portion of the proceeds will benefit many of the charitable organizations the two men passionately support, primarily the Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center on which Epstein served as board member for 7 years and The Trevor Project, for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth as an aid in crisis and suicide prevention.
